Festivalet by Duduá in Barcelona ♥

Grandes noticias! Duduá organiza Festivalet, un pequeño gran mercado handmade en Barcelona! Hurra! Viva! Yupi! Por fin!!! Tendrá lugar en la cripta de la librería La Central el 12 y 13 de diciembre, perfecto para hacer compras navideñas bonitas y únicas! Estoy muy contenta por participar y tener stand junto a gente con tantísimo talento como Emedemarta, Caballo ganador, Sirena con jersey, Crochettes, Yohi & Olivia, Mia accesorios, Dumbo y Olula se casa, ay qué bien! ^___^ También habrán cómics y libritos de Apa apa cómics y Borobiltxo libros. Y para endulzar todavía más el acontecimiento, mostazas a la miel y a la naranja de La ballena Elena y galletas hechas a mano de Ada, mmmmm! Uno de los colaboradores principales es We love crafts, que ha empezado a entrevistar a los participantes de Festivalet en su blog, no os perdáis la primera entrevista a Dumbo, está muy bien! Y por supuesto y por favor, si estáis en Barcelona venid a vernos!

Big news! Duduá is organizing Festivalet (wich means little festival in catalan), a small big market about handmade and crafts! Great! Finally! It will take place in the crypt of the art and design bookstore La Central in December the 12th and 1th, right in time for doing a beautiful and unique Xmas shopping! I´m very happy to participate in the whole thing and having a stand next to great talented people such as Emedemarta, Caballo ganador, Sirena con jersey, Crochettes, Yohi & Olivia, Mia accesorios, Dumbo y Olula se casa. It´s sooo nice ^___^ There will also be comics and books from Apa apa comics and Borobiltxo books. And to make the whole thing even sweeter, hone and orange mustards from La ballena Elena and handmade cookies by Ada, mmmmm! One of the main collaborators is We love crafts, who has already started a series of interviews to Festivalet´s participants. Read the first one made to Dumbo here. And please and of course, if you happen to be in Barcelona, come by to say hello!

Y aquí está el hermanito mayor de Mütze! Un mega Munny de medio metro de alto customizado para la expo de Kidrobot en la galería The eloquent delinquents en Nueva York. Todavía estoy sin creérmelo, pensar que mi Munny estará al ladito de otros hechos por artistas que admiro hace que me tiemblen las rodillas... :) La verdad es que me lo pasé tan bien pintando, cosiendo y tricotando que me costó bastante deshacerme de él, aunque lo abracé muchas veces antes de mandarlo de vuelta a la Gran Manzana. Espero os guste y que acabe en manos de alguien que lo quiera mucho mucho!

And here´s Mütze´s big brother! An 18-inch mega Munny customized for Kidrobot´s exhibition at The eloquent delinquents gallery in New York! I still can´t believe this is happening, just thinking that my Munny will be standing next to other ones made by artists I deeply admire...! :) I had so much fun painting, sewing and crochetting that it was pretty hard to get rid of him, and I had to hug him many times before sending him back to the Big Apple. Hope you like him and that he ends up in the hands of someone who loves him a lot!

20 años de la caída del muro

El lunes 9 de noviembre se celebraron los 20 años de la caída del muro de Berlín. Para ello se organizó en el centro de la ciudad una reproducción de trozos de muro puestos uno frente al otro en una larga fila y que, al empujar la primera pieza, ésta caía empujando a la siguiente y así hasta la última, creando un efecto dominó. A pesar del tremendísimo frío y lluvia, hubo que ir a verlo y la verdad es que valió la pena, me emocionó mucho el ver el "muro" caer, la reacción de la gente, que gritaba y saltaba de alegría (yo también, un día es un día :) celebrando la libertad. Todavía recuerdo a mis padres frente a la tele en el 89, felices por la noticia y yo no entendía qué pasaba porque era peque, pero realmente me impactó ver a mis padres y a gente en la pantalla haciendo el loco. Como dijimos con una amiga, quizás son las memorias de nuestros padres hace 20 años lo que nos crea un vínculo con el muro y su demolición y el vivir aquí no hace más que estrechar esos lazos. Fue bonito.

On Monday 9th November the 20 years of Berlin´s wall fall were celebrated. For that in the city center were placed a reproduction of wall pieces put one in front of the other and in a long row that, when pushing down the first piece, this one was falling pushig then the next one and so on, creating a huge domino effect. Besides the tremendous cold weather and the rain, I went there and I have to say that it was really worth it. I was very touched watching the "wall" falling and people´s reaction, shouting and jumping of joy (me too, I had too! :), celebrating freedom. I still can remember my parents sitting in front of TV back in 1989, so happy with the news! I couldn´t understand what was going on at that time as I was small but it surely made an impact in me, seeing my parents and people on the screen doing the crazy. As we said with a friend, it´s maybe the memories of our parents 20 years ago what creates a link with the wall and its demolition and living here just makes those links even stronger. It was beautiful.

Mütze!

Hace un par de meses Kidrobot organizó un concurso de customización de su famoso Munny. Me enteré 4 días antes de acabar el plazo de entrega, pero como tenía un Munny en casa desde hacía mil años y no me gusta no utilizar lo que compro, decidía participar. Así nació Mütze (gorrito en alemán). Sin ánimos de ganar, aluciné pepinillos cuando Kidrobot anunció que sí, había ganado! No me lo podía creer (ni puedo todavía). El premio, customizar un Mega Munny de medio metro que se presentará este mes en una expo en Nueva York junto a 60 artistas que adoro y admiro profundamente como Frank Kozik, Heidi Kenney o Amanda Visell. En breve fotos del Mega Munny... ^___^ Gracias Kidrobot! ♥

A couple of months ago Kidrobot organized a custom contest of their famous Munny. I knew about it 4 days before the contest´s deadline, and as long as I had a Munny at home since 1000 years and I don´t like to not use what I buy, I decided to participate. And that´s how Mütze (little hat in german) was born! Not expecting to win, I flipped out when Kidrobot anounced me that yes, I did win! I couldn´t believe it (still can´t). The prize, customizing a 18-inch Mega Munny that will be presented in a New York show this month together with other 60 artists I adore and deeply admire, Frank Kozik, Heidi Kenney and Amanda Visell between them.
