Este es Pepito, un osito mitad amigurumi, mitad de lana cosida y con un vestidito de tela de lino para punto de cruz. Le hice a su amiguito el fantasma con arcilla blanca, lo puse dentro de una pequeña vitrina (soy fan de las vitrinas) y... voilà! Colgado en el recibidor de mi casa, que queda muy mono ^__^

This is Pepito, a little bear half amigurumi knitted, half sewn wool and with a linen cross stitch fabric dress. I made him a tiny ghost friend with white clay, put them inside a frame (I love frames) and... Voilà! There they are, hanging on my wall, looking that cute ^___^

Chicadecanela SS09: BONITOOOO! ^w^

Hacía mucho que no posteaba nada relacionado con el handmade, y qué mejor ocasión que la nueva colección de Chicadecanela para hacerlo... Me encanta! Cuando recibí su newsletter, me metí corriendo en la web y me enamoré de absolutamente todo. Además de los tonos pastel que suele utilizar y ya son su sello, hay también colores más "directos" y que le dan mucha alegría a la colección; rojos, amarillos, algún verde manzana... Y ese estilo sesentero que parece haberla inspirado, con detallitos como apliques de plástico en forma de manzanitas o lacitos, o sus "vintage pets", que son como juguetitos sixties. Mi preferido es el bolso/cestito de rafia, lo quiero! Felicidades Lucía, la has bordado! (y nunca mejor dicho) ^___^

There was a long time I didn´t post anything related with handmade, and what a better occasion than spanish handcrafter Chicadecanela´s colletion to do it... I LOVE IT! When I got her newsletter, I went straight to the website and fell in love with everything. Besides the pastel tones she uses and that are already a classic in her work, there´s also more shiny and basic colors giving a lot of joy to the whole collection; reds, yellows, apple green... And that sixties style that seems to have inspired her, with little details such as plastic beads apple and bow-shaped, or her "vintage pets", that look like retro toys. My favourite is this sweet little bag, I want it! Congrats Lucia, it all looks wonderful! ^___^

Lady Luck Rules Ok es una marca de accesorios de West London que he descubierto recientemente y que me encanta. Sus colgantes, broches, anillos, etc... son originales y divertidos, además de estar muy muy bien de precio, como nos gusta. Fundada en el 2003, se encuentra ya en las principales capitales de Europa y en Japón, aunque cuenta también con tienda online para llegar a todas partes. Me gustan especialmente los colgantes de madera con diseños estilo tattoo, como en la foto de arriba, que además se pueden personalizar con el nombre que elijas, y la manzanita amarilla, que me la como!

Lady Luck Rules Ok is an accessories brand from West London that I recently discovered and love. Its pendants, brooches, rings, etc... are original, sweet and funny besides being sold at a very fair price, as we like it. Founded in 2003, it sells in the main european cities as well as in Japan but also has online shop to get everywhere. I´m specially fond of the tattoo-like pendants as in the picture, and that can be personalized with the name you want, and the lil´yellow apple... Yummy!

Pictoplasma 2009 / Merry Karnowsky ^w^

Una de las cosas que me pilló más de Pictoplasma fue la expo en la galería Merry Karnowsky. Fundada en Los Ángeles, abrió "sucursal" en Berlín ahora hace justo un año, y para celebrar el cumple y Pictoplasma, liaron una expo increíble con obras, entre otras, de Junko Mizuno y Miss Van, yeah! Ya está, se ha convertido en mi galería favorita de la city.

One of the things that caught me the most of Pictoplasma was the  Merry Karnowsky´s exhibition. Founded in Los Angeles, they opened a second gallery in Berlin a year ago, and so for celebrating both birthday and Pictoplasma they made an amazing show with works, between many other great ones, from Junko Mizuno and Miss Van, yeah! It has definetely become my favourite gallery in the city...

Una pequeña expo de Pictoplasma muy interesante reunía serigrafías de ilustradores argentinos, considerados de los mejores en el mundo en diseño de personajes. Entre ellos el gran Gastón Caba, al que tuve el placer de conocer y que además de crear personajes maravillosos, descubrí que es también un muy buen músico.

A small but very interesting Pictoplasma exhibition was the one putting together screenprints and silkscreens from argentinian illustrators, considered some of the best worldwide in character design. Between them was the great Gastón Caba, who I got the pleasure of meeting and who does not just creates wonderful creatures but I discovered is also a really good musician.
