Etsy finds: Happy friends ^w^

Happy Friends son amigurumis "à la française" (oséase, hechos en Francia) y que para mi gusto reúnen las cualidades necesarias para dar en el clavo: buena combinación de colores, lanas de calida y formas sencillas y agradables. Los conejitos me recuerdan en cierto modo a las Kokeshi japonesas y me parecen súper tiernos. No es de extrañar que a Christelle, madre de tan dulces criaturas, le hayan publicado este libro (me lo pido!) sobre sus amigurumis con patrones para que podamos hacerlos nosotras mismas. Happy friends are amigurumi "à la française" (so made in France) and that under my opinion, reunite the necessary ingredients for being "the thing": good color combination, quality materials and simple yet neat shapes. The lil´bunnies remind me of the japanese Kokeshi and find them super sweet. Enough reasons for that Christelle, mother of such cute pals, has already published this book (I want it!) about her amigurumi, patterns included for that we can make them ourselves. Etsy finds: Penguin and fish ^w^

Si buscáis patrones para bordados únicos y preciosos, o peluches de gatitos y unicornios simpáticos y esponjosos como el Mimosín, Penguin and Fish es vuestra tienda. Alyssa, ilustradora de Mineápolis, diseña todos los personajes para los bordados y muñecos. Me encanta su tienda empezando por el nombre, es muy agradable y acogedora.

Tara McPherson in Berlin!!! ^w^

La increíble Tara McPherson, en estos momentos de tour por Europa, ha estado esta tarde firmando en mi tienda favorita de Berlín, Modern Graphics. Ello significa que probablemente me notareis bastante en plan fan pesadita a lo largo de todo el post, sorry... He ido a verla en persona y pedirle que pusiese sus iniciales en 2 de sus "Flying bunnies", uno para una amiga, otro pa mí. Estaba súper nerviosa, rollo groupie quinceañera... Siempre me pasa eso con la gente a la que admiro y aún sabiendo que son humanos (lo son, verdad?!), que no me salen las palabras (a los que me conozcan esto les parecerá imposible), me pongo súper roja... A pesar de mi mudez repentina y mi look tomate, he conocido a Tara, que es muy  amable, simpática y sexy. Viva Tara! ^____^

Super talented artist Tara McPherson happened to be today in Berlin, part of the european tour she´s making, signing in my favourite shop in the whole city, Modern Graphics. This means that you´re probaly gonna sense me quite "annoying fan"-like during this whole post (sorry about that!). I went to see her and ask her to "mark" with her initials a couple of her"Flying bunnies", one for a friend, the other one for me. I was so nervous! Looked like a teenage groupie... This always happens to me with people I admire; even being concious that they´re humans (ok, some of them I´m pretty convinced they might have superpowers), I can´t speak (the ones knowing me sure find this impossible to be), I get super red... Well, even thought my loss of conversation and the bright tomato look I met Tara and she´s very kind, funny and sexy. Viva Tara! ^___^

L´Affiche Moderne! ^w^

L´Affiche Moderne, una tienda online parisina que ofrece pósters con diseños y fotografías de artistas a nivel francés e internacional, me pidió recientemente hacer el "imagier" (o lo que es lo mismo, "alfabeto en imágenes" en francés)  que véis aquí (podéis hacer "click" en la imagen para ver más grande). Cada letra del abecedario encabeza una palabra y va acompañada del dibujo de su significado. Lo pasé pipa dibujando personajes y en un viaje a París que hice hace poquito tuve la oportunidad de conocer a Mélanie, fundadora de L´Affiche Moderne y que es encantadora, con lo que no puedo más que alegrarme mucho mucho por éste proyecto! Podéis encontrar el póster aquí ^_______^

L´Affiche Moderne, a parisian online shop that offers high quality posters featuring designs and photography of french and international artists, recently asked me to make the "imagier" you can see above (click on the image to enlarge). "Imagier" means "alphabet in images" in french. Each letter of the abecedary heads a word and is accompanied with a drawing representing it. I had great fun drawing the characters and I had the chance to meet the lovely Mélanie, founder of L´Affiche Moderne in a recent trip to Paris, so I just can be very very happy about this project! Etsy finds: Mummola ^w^

Hola guapas! Cuántos días sin actualizar, estoy en medio de una ilustración bastante paranoica y que me está volviendo ídem... En algún minutillo libre que he tenido, a altas horas de la madrugada, me he dado una vuelta por Etsy, cosa que no hacía en trillones de años y claro, he empezado a ver cosas maravillosas, se me caía la baba... Así que he decidido compartirlas, y cada vez que encuentre algo bonito lo postearé bajo el título de "Etsy finds", vale?

Empiezo con Mummola, una tienda ubicada en Finlandia y que ofrece telas vintage escandinavas PRECIOSAS a muy buen precio. Niina, su dueña, hace también fundas de almohada y monederitos. He comprado 2 fundas de los Moomins para regalar a un fan de los bichis y el bolsito del elefante que véis arriba en la foto (me he enamorado del paquidermo, es el colmo de la ternura). El servicio inmejorable, ha sido muy amable y en 3 días ya lo tenía todo en casa. Recomendado!

Hello beauties! How many days without an update, I´m busy with an illustration quite paranoid and that it´s turning me the same as well... During the very few free minutes I´ve gotten, mostly quite late at night, I´ve been surfing Etsy, something I didn´t do for a million years. And I´ve seen so many wonderful things that I´ve decided to share them so from now on everytime I find something beautiful, I´ll post it under the title "Etsy finds", right?

I´ll start then with Mummola, a shop located in Finland offering BEAUTIFUL scandinavian vintage fabrics at a very nice price. Its owner, Niina, also makes pillow covers and cute purses from vintage material. I just bought 2 Moomins pillow covers for a gift and the elephant purse you can see in the picture above (I fell in love with it, that lil´elephant is the cutest and sweetest thing, isn´t he?). The transaction has been very pleasant, Niina is super nice and the package came home just after 3 days of having made the order. Highly recommended, girls!

He decidido poner mi colección de muñequitos en un plato para pasteles con tapa. No tenía suficientes para llenar una vitrina, ni tampoco me gustaban en la estantería, pues cogían polvo muy deprisa y limpiarlos era un coñazo. La idea no fue mía, la vi aquí, y me gustó tanto que al encontrar el plato de cristal en el sagrado templo del hogar, no pude resistirme...

I´ve decided to put my small vinyl toy collection in a cake plate. The idea wasn´t mine, but found here, and I liked it so much that when I found the crystal cake plate in the sacred home temple, I couldn´t resist myself...

Mañana, 4 de junio, entramos en trance con el lanzamiento de la serie de muñequitos "Pure trance" de la grande Junko Mizuno. Kidrobot hizo posible el milagro, gracias, gracias, gracias!
